Meet Sharon, a passionate educator bringing her love of learning from Botswana to the Central Desert.

Now teaching at Stirling School approximately 36 minutes from her home base in Ti Tree—a remote Northern Territory town. Sharon has embraced this new chapter with open arms and a spirit of adventure.

“Life is about exploring,” she says. “It’s all about throwing a stone in the bush and seeing what comes out.”

Originally from Botswana, Sharon moved to the NT with her husband Kelvin and their two children, Tatenda (8) and Tanyaradzwa (12). The family has quickly settled into the peaceful pace of life in Ti Tree, enjoying weekend trips to Alice Springs and getting to know their new community.

Kelvin, who works in school grounds maintenance, has taken on the challenge of clearing buffel grass and loves the laid-back lifestyle. “It is fantastic out here. Besides the flies, everything is just great!” he laughs.

For Sharon, the move has been more than a change in location—it’s a chance to make a difference. Teaching in a small, remote school has opened up opportunities for meaningful connection with students, culture, and country.
